【解説】：アイスクリームは、夏の季語です。私にとって、アイスクリームは甘く冷たい砂糖菓子という意味しか持っていませんでした。子供にとって、アイスクリームは誰かが自分にくれるご褒美です。

Ice cream is a Summer Kigo. Ice cream was nothing more than cool sugary sweets for me. Children see ice cream as a gift.

大人になると、知識が増えます。アイスクリームは、サトウキビから精製された砂糖を原材料として、食品工場で加工され、トラックで運ばれ、お店に陳列されます。そのようなアイスクリームを食べる時、甘さとともに、ここまでアイスクリームを運んできた人間の労働を考えざるを得なくなりました。

Becoming an adult, we know things. Ice cream is made from sugar. Sugar is, in turn, produced from sugar cane. Ice cream is delivered by trucks and displayed in retail shops. When I eat the ice cream, I cannot help but think about all the labor bringing the ice cream here though I can feel sweetness as ever.

アイスクリームに富の象徴を感じるのは、大人の論理性によるものです。論理性とは、事物の関係性を理解する能力です。とある刹那に、人間は論理性が発達し、アイスクリームはただ甘いだけの砂糖菓子ではなくなるのでしょう。

We would find a symbol of wealth in ice cream by logic. Logic is the ability that enables people to find a relation between things. At certain moments, people develop their logic, and ice cream becomes something more than cool sugary sweets.
